Analytics/Bioprocess Technician

Selexis (Geneva, Switzerland) is currently seeking a talented Analytics/Bioprocess Technician to join our dynamic teams and help the development of recombinant mammalian cell lines. You will play an active role in the expression and characterization of proteins in a cross-functional team environment.

Position overview:

This position will be shared between two departments, Analytics and Bioprocess, depending on internal workload needs:

  • Under the supervision of staff analytic engineers you will :
    • Understand and execute analytical procedures with a specific focus on routine testing
    • Understand protein sample type and format, purpose of test assay and be capable to design appropriately
    • Develop the ability of trouble shooting and problem solving with scientific guidance

 

  • Under the supervision of staff bioprocess engineers you will:
    • Prepare cell samples to be evaluated (cell thawing, counting, passaging…)
    • Execute fed-batch runs in controlled environment (Ambr15, bench-top scale bioreactors)
    • Identify technical issues and find solutions under limited supervision
    • Participate in weekend call-outs and operate at distance or on site if necessary

 

General Requirements:

  • Direct experience with basic and advanced analytical procedures (ELISA, SDS-PAGE, western-blot, iCIEF, CE-SDS, SEC-HPLC, Protein A HPLC…)
  • Prior experience with basic mammalian cell culture procedures
  • Computer skills and familiarity with data acquisition, graphing and analysis
  • Capacity to generate, manage, analyze and maintain critical data
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capable of managing workload based on changing priorities
  • Understand project complexity and timelines
  • Strong work ethic and attention to details

 

A plus…

  • Strong experience in ELISA design and troubleshooting for complex proteins
  • Prior experience in Ambr15 and/or lab scale bioreactors
  • Experience in Cell Culture process
  • Capacity to implement new methods and technologies
